The Story

Grand Seiko’s reverence for nature and the seasons of Japan finds poetic expression on the dial of SBGM255, known as “Snowdrop.” As winter’s chill fades and the warmth of spring begins to take hold, melting snow gives rise to droplets that sparkle in the sunlight. The patterned dial captures this delicate moment, evoking the glistening snowmelt that heralds the arrival of spring near the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi.

The stainless steel case measures 39.5mm in diameter and features a box-shaped sapphire crystal, drawing inspiration from the design language of Grand Seiko’s earliest mechanical timepieces.

Inside, the mechanical Caliber 9S66 beats with a precision of +5 to -3 seconds per day and offers a power reserve of 72 hours. Its independently adjustable local hour hand allows effortless tracking of two time zones, while the tempered blue 24-hour hand adds a subtle flourish. Visible through the sapphire case back, this refined movement underscores the craftsmanship that defines Grand Seiko’s mechanical GMTs.
